About

A school built from a blank page.

Brightvillehope is a new independent K–12 day school opening in Chicago. We are designing every part of school life from first principles — what children actually need to flourish in the 21st century.

Our story

Brightvillehope began in 2024 around a kitchen table, with a group of Chicago parents and educators asking a stubborn question: what would school look like if we built it for the children we actually have, in the world they will actually inherit?

Three years of design, planning, and listening later, we are breaking ground on a 14-acre lakeside campus and welcoming our inaugural class in the fall of 2027.

Our values

Curiosity

We hire teachers who fall in love with questions, and design classrooms that protect a child's natural wonder.

Excellence

High standards, generous support. We expect a lot — and we make sure every student has what they need to meet the moment.

Kindness

Character is taught the way reading is taught: explicitly, daily, and with care. Belonging is not optional.

Craft

From handwriting to calculus, from the violin to the lab bench, we believe in mastery and the joy of doing things well.

Our leadership

Brightvillehope is led by educators who have spent their careers in the best independent schools in the country, and who share a conviction that the next great school can — and should — be built in Chicago.
